Re-branding is a tool whereby an author of an E-book, Guide or Report can set up that item to be re-branded. Let’s use the E-book as an example. An author writes some helpful content about a subject which he/she turns into an E-book. They spend quite a bit of time creating the E-book, making an E-cover, uploading it to their website and so on. Now they have done all that work only to find out that it is hard to get people to download and read it.
This is where re-branding comes to play. The author can set up the E-book with some special tags in which others can put their information. The author decides how many links and places in the E-book that they want to give over to the person re-branding the E-book. This can be one link or name and website information or ten links. That is totally in control of the author.
Why would the author allow re-branding of links in their E-book? A reason is that by allowing others to re-brand links it will give them an incentive to pass the E-book on. It will also give the other person the ability to earn some extra money from the E-book when people click on their re-branded links. The Author wins by getting more eyeballs reading his/her E-book and he/she can also earn extra money from their original copy. The author can also gauge the popularity of what they have written. If other people are re-branding a copy a lot, then the author knows that their content is helpful to people.
Now some might say that it is too much trouble to set up a re-branding system. That was true in the past but not now. Here are the steps one can take to have their E-book re-branded:
You, of course, need to write your E-book.
You can then download and install OpenOffice which is an open source office program. The reason to use OpenOffice is that you need to save your E-book as a.odt file.
Next, you will want to go through your E-book and put tags in places where you want other people to be able to put their information. An Example is __Clickbank_id__ for any Clickbank products you are promoting in the E-book. Maybe you just want the re-brander to put in their name and website information. You can create tags for them __Your_Name__ and __Your_Website_URL__ (without the http://) You can tag Pictures along with text.
So, anything you want re-branded you create a tag in your E-book.
You can make changes later to update or delete items. Mention in your E-book that it will be updated from time to time and they can come back and re-brand a new copy if they want.
When your E-book is complete you can get an account with the site that I show in the Sig File. There is a one time fee but it gives you the ability to upload an unlimited number of E-books and have an unlimited number of re-branded tags.
Login to your account and upload your E-book. You will then be able to create your tags that you put in the E-book. You can put in short instructions for the person re-branding your E-book. You hit continue and your E-book is ready for anyone to download.
What is really cool is you do not have worry about where you are going to store the E-book or anything else. Everything is at the website. You will be given several links that you can promote. One link is direct access to your re-branded E-book. Another link takes the person to the re-branding page so that they can re-brand the E-book with their links.
Finally, there are many ways for anyone to use the E-book.

You could create a service to do what I show you in the E-book.
You can give it away.
You can use it as an incentive to opt-in to your list. Being the creative person that you are, I am sure you can come up with many other ways to use the E-book. I trust that you see now how re-branding can be a win-win for the author and the person that re-brands the item.
