Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular ways to start an online business by promoting others’ products and make money in the sales of these products; without any investments into the product itself. But, how do we get started?

Start with a Physical Plan

In affiliate marketing, the start of the journey is to have a plan. Whether it be effective, researched affiliate marketing strategies or creating a website that houses your entire sales pitch for that product, I find it useful to physically draw them out on a big sheet of paper with diagrams and checklist.

You will also need to craft post-sales plans. After you launch your website, you will start looking at important aspects:

the number of visitors on your website because if they are converted into customers via your blog or website, this will largely determine the amount of commission you are going to obtain from the product niche you are promoting.

Analytics for your website – I high recommend using Google Analytics because it’s free and it’s amazingly detailed, such as demographics and countries of where your visitors come from
Tip: Affiliate marketing business is not difficult to start and anyone can do it by doing it the right way. In fact, there are plenty of free tutorials and videos available online on how to do affiliate marketing and how to make money with affiliate marketing, but to do it the right way you have to find the right system and mentors or you may have to try and fail.

4 Things That Will Help You in Your Affiliate Journey

1. Start it with a low-budget:

Unlike popular beliefs, creating passive income opportunities, at least with affiliate marketing, doesn’t require you to invest big amounts of money from the beginning. Some of the things you need money for:

Website: You can easily set up a website on your own
Domain: This will be your website’s name
Hosting: This is like a house that collects all your website contents, photos etc.
The best thing about affiliate marketing is that it depends on how much you want to invest and expand your digital business. If you have limited time, I recommend that you can leverage other people’s times by outsourcing your content work. You can also do this on your own which will certainly save you a large amount of money, but will take some of your time. Make sure the content you are writing is useful, informative and unique that provides massive value for your readers.

2. Be a Boss:

Affiliate marketing is the best way to become a boss of your very own business, but make sure to work smart. Working smart is about the allocation of admin tasks, such as creating a website or doing website content in the beginning, to reliable outsourcing platforms.

Tip: Be sure to keep track of your expenses in a spreadsheet, so you know exactly how much you spent.

The awesome thing about this is that you can literally work from anywhere, anytime with an internet service, and no longer take orders from your boss. Be your own teacher, boss and everything.

3. Freedom – No Restricted Time Frames:

Work anywhere, anytime is the main idea of most affiliate lifestyles – yes it’s true in the mid- to long-term, but the start of the sail is the hardest. To start with, make sure you allocate your time wisely to work on affiliate marketing for at least 1 – 2 hours a day, when you are most alert. If you feel tired from work or from a day’s out, take a quick nap or break and come back with 100% mind and brain power. I find it helpful to wake up early, do exercise and spend a few hours the morning.

Honestly, if you stay disciplined, you can create the true internet lifestyle that you want. I can say that affiliate marketing is a perfect side business as long as you are on the track of keeping things up to date and never give up.

4. Fair Game – No Experience Required:

One of the best things about the affiliate marketing business is that it is suitable for anyone from all walks of life, whether you’re 25 and didn’t graduate from college or still in college, or you’re in your 50’s with a PhD or just a college/associate degree. It’s an equal game. The determining factor is the “survival of the fittest”, I’d say.

That’s why it’s so important to know your REASON for doing this. You do not even need a proper experience to start affiliate marketing. I have seen a lot of people from all range of ages earning massive amounts of money from their affiliate business.
